Our history.
1987
Company founded by Richard Cockayne, design and mail order supply of electronic pain control devices, known as TeNS machines.
1990
Purchase of APSCO, a subcontract electronics manufacturer. The assembly plant was re-equipped and turned into the UK manufacturing centre for TeNS machines.
1991
Electronic design consultancy created to develop next-generation, market leading TeNS machines and to undertake a range of external contracts including remote-control vehicle movers.
1992
Our miniature TeNS device featured is on featured on QVC!
1995
Manufacturing facility sold to a large engineering conglomerate
2006
First e-commerce website launched, providing direct sale of halogen and low-energy light bulbs and control products.
2009
Maxilux brand established as a provider of bespoke LED lighting systems for commercial applications.
2010
Sale of light bulb business and capital investment in assembly facility and laser production machinery. Develop proprietary acrylic LED light panels and begin offering bespoke production
2012
Manufacture and supply large scale production roll-out of bespoke LED panel system for major European supermarket chain as well as a range of
high street retailers and international airports.
2015
Launch of LEDSpace, now the UKs leading bespoke domestic LED solutions provider.
2017
Purchase of second factory in Coventry to expand final assembly, warehousing and distribution. Launch of electronics and embedded software division
2018
Opening of official sourcing and logistics office in Shenzhen, China
2020
Engineering and R&D team moved to dedicated facility, as Maxilux Systems.
2021
UK engineering team moves to The Half Pipe, our purpose-built R&D centre in rural Warwickshire.
